ABOUT

The Project is a collection of creative writing, poetry, and photography from local Denver youth. The Project has been about a year in the making, and is finally being released thanks to the help of everyone who submitted and helped push it along its way. Financially supporting The Project was the final shove in getting it put together and distributed, so thank you! The idea behind the project was to collect local talent and distribute it free of charge to anyone who showed interest or wanted a copy. If the feedback is positive and strong enough, I would like to continue creating and distributing The Project with several different editions. But even if that doesn't happen, I'll be satisfied in knowing that it at least got this far. --Bobbi Stark, Editor

Here is just some information, helpful for clarifying any confusion that you might have.

Submissions

All submissions can be sent to the MySpace profile via message, OR to Diaries_Of_303@yahoo.com. If you make a submission, please be sure to include your name, or if you choose to stay mysterious, an alias will work too. Contact information is optional, but since there is no Copy-Write on The Project, I advise to at least put an e-mail address down, in case someone wants to contact you in regard to your work, it won’t be a pain in the ass. Also, if you want to contribute art or photography please be sure the images are in black and white, as I can't afford color copies.

Getting A Copy

Distribution is weird. It’s hard to say where a copy will end up. The back seats of cars, garbage cans, and sewage systems are probably popular hang outs for The Project, but aside from that I advise looking for copies around the Metro Campus, Local d.i.y. venues and book stores. It's hard to say how long those kinds of establishments actually keep the copies out before they trash them, but it's worth a look. If the wild goose chase of getting a copy is a little much for your taste: drop us a line, including your mailing address and I will be more than happy to send them out via Snail Mail.

Copies and Donations

As I’m sure you have already noticed, The Project is published and distributed free of charge, and run off of donations only, leaving fundage super low. I can typically somehow get the money to make about 150 copies, but usually anything more than that has to be done with the help of lovely people like yourselves.

All Help is Good Help

From taking a copy, and making 5 more copies for some friends, to donating a couple bucks, all forms of help are super effective and HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!

Music

Everyone seems to be inquiring about music, trying to see if there is any way that kind of thing could be submitted. Well. Sorry to be a fun hater, but I just really don’t know how that would work with this publication. BUT, i came up with an idea. If local bands want to print out small flyers including some information on em, I can probably stash that shit into some copies before they get handed out.
